I recently posted on my instagram stories a video questioning advice on what I labelled ‘the most mundane issue ever’. And this issue, I called FitBit wrist.
I recently got a FitBit, and that’s a whole post in itself, but for now, I have one and I’ve been casually using it. I have, however, been wearing it on my wrist constantly. I am absolutely not one to take earrings out before bed and cannot relate to people who can be arsed doing so. The same goes for rings and we do not speak about the fact my nipple piercings have never ever been changed.
I am slightly grubby and proud, okay?
I do take my FitBit off to have a shower or bath, although this isn’t for hygiene reasons, and instead because I don’t trust any technology claiming to be waterproof.
When I first wore my watch I noticed a lil trace of it when getting in the shower - nothing bad though, think an imprint from a bra or that red mark from where your thighs have been touching. Recently though, maybe three weeks down the line, I’m scaly and red and angry. This is a full force agitated rash and I’m retiring my step count for the week to let it heal.
My conclusions from, literally, 93 message requests and a full inbox from pals after posting about FitBit wrist, is that we’re all in the slightly grubby and proud category. Apparently I’m expected to dry my watch strap thoroughly after washing my hands which I firmly don’t do. Others got my style, saying that it can appear if you don’t wash your watch immediately after exercise, meaning that my iced coffee priority isn’t GP approved.
Since learning the source of this problem, I’m proud to say I’ve dodged adulting and simply bought a ‘sports strap’. I have given FitBit more money and think they’re pulling an Apple number on us by making flimsy chargers. But, if it means I can continue in my ways, I’m down.
Also, it’s completely fine because it’s pink.
